Hydrant Flushing and Testing

May 11, 2018

SUEZ is continyuing its annual, comprehensive water main maintenance and fire hydrant testing program in its southeast Pennsylvania service territory.  “Fire hydrants are essential in providing water for fire protection and also serve a critical role in ensuring that SUEZ customers receive reliable, quality water service at their homes and businesses,” said Larry Finnicum, Director of Operations.

“Fire hydrants are necessary to flush the underground water system which improves water quality by removing mineral and sediment deposits that have accumulated over time,” he added.

Hydrant inspection and flushing will occur Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  During this process, some customers may experience reduced water pressure or temporary discoloration of water. While the water is safe to drink, customers may prefer to wait until it runs clear before drinking or washing clothes or dishes.

You can find the flushing schedule, listed by development, here in our News Center. You can also find out when your area is scheduled for hydrant inspection and flushing by calling our Customer Service Center at 610-497-8886.
