Giving Back Through Charitable Donations
As an involved member of the communities we serve and a steward of natural resources, we focus our philanthropic efforts on non-profit organizations related to water. Each year, we make direct contributions and provide in-kind services to hundreds of local environmental organizations and groups across the country, helping protect natural resources in every community.
No one is immune to unexpected financial hardship. Situations like the loss of a job or a debilitating illness or injury can make it difficult for individuals to meet basic, day-to-day living expenses. When such crises occur, SUEZ North America steps in to help.
SUEZ Cares is our non-profit program that helps customers who need temporary financial assistance to maintain their water service.

This program, located at the Springfield Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, provides instruction in physical, earth, environmental and life sciences, technology and engineering design. The workshop, funded for the past 12 years by the SUEZ Foundation and operated in collaboration with Springfield Public Schools and the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, serves more than 1,800 5th grade students per year.
Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation
The mission of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation is to help build character and teach critical life lessons to disadvantaged young people residing in America’s most distressed communities through baseball and softball-themed programs. The “Badges to Baseball” program—which brings together police officers and kids to play and build positive relationships—is sponsored by the SUEZ Foundation in Springfield, MA; Jersey City, NJ; Poughkeepsie, NY; and Harrisburg, PA. These programs will impact over 800 youths in these communities each year.
Friends of the Hermitage
The SUEZ Foundation supports the design, development and implementation of a multi-disciplinary program for 4th graders in Jersey City, NJ public schools to visit The Hermitage and experience the world of 19th century industrialism in New Jersey, with particular emphasis on the stories of water. Over 2,000 students participate in the program.
